The Tiguan Allspace is an independent version of the most successful SUV made in Germany, with up to 7 seats and more luggage space. An extended wheelbase and greater overall length make the Tiguan Allspace a most spacious SUV: by folding down the backrests of the second row of seats, the cargo space available can be boosted from 760 liters to as much as 1,920 liters. Volkswagen presents the new Touran
Volkswagen presents the new Touran. The completely redesigned MPV was showcased before an audience of international media representatives at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, not far from the production site where the popular family car is made. The interior of the new model has undergone a significant increase in size and is highly configurable. Refinements have been made all around the vehicle, which boasts a range of six new economical engines and an extensive line-up of assistance and infotainment systems. The public premiere of the new Touran will take place in the coming week at the Geneva motor show.

The first generation of the Touran enters the market in 2003. The compact van, designed from scratch, quickly becomes a shooting star in a booming vehicle segment. Even then, the VW Touran shows itself to be a multivariable family, leisure and business car with high quality and good all-round characteristics typical of the brand. "More than a family car" is the fitting slogan for the market launch on 14 March 2003.
