With the second-generation of the ID.3, Volkswagen is continuing the success story of its ID. family. Two and a half years after the launch of the first generation, the all-electric bestseller is now coming to the market with a comprehensive upgrade. Alongside the latest software with all convenience and assist systems, the vehicle impresses above all with its newly sharpened exterior and the refined interior design. New colors, such as Dark Olivine Green, create a fresh new look, while the overall appearance is rounded off by the use of top-quality, animal-free and sustainable materials.

Major upgrade for the ID.3: pre-sales launch with Pro S model
Volkswagen is launching the new ID.3 with an extensive upgrade. The next software and infotainment generation and the improved operating concept are now also entering Volkswagen’s electric compact class. The augmented reality head-up display has been enhanced, a brand new Wellness App and optional premium sound system from Harman Kardon have been added. With the improved drivetrain, the ID.3 Pro S’s output increases to up to 170 kW. Pre-sales for the Pro S model (5 seater) with a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery (net) are now open; further variants will be available to order shortly. -
World premiere at CES: Volkswagen integrates ChatGPT into its vehicles
At CES 2024, the world's leading electronics trade fair held from 9 to 12 January, Volkswagen will present the first vehicles in which the artificial-intelligence-based chatbot ChatGPT is integrated into its IDA voice assistant. In future, customers will have seamless access to the constantly growing artificial intelligence database in all Volkswagen models equipped with the IDA voice assistant and have researched content read out to them while driving. Cerence Chat Pro from technology partner Cerence Inc. is the foundation of the new function, which offers a uniquely intelligent, automotive-grade ChatGPT integration. Volkswagen will be the first volume manufacturer to offer Chat GPT as a standard feature from the second quarter of 2024 in many production vehicles. -
ID.3 passes 100,000 km test from German ADAC
The German ADAC, Europe's largest automobile association, gives the ID.3 a good report card. The engineers at the Test and Technology Center in Landsberg am Lech have already covered more than 100,000 kilometers. The most important finding: the high-voltage battery still has a net capacity of 93 percent. An ID.3 Pro S with 77 kWh net battery energy content was tested for which Volkswagen, as for all other models in the ID. family, guarantees that the battery still has at least 70 percent of its original net capacity after eight years in operation or 160,000 kilometers of driving.
