Volkswagen is becoming a strong and profitable automobile brand in the North America region. The brand continues its push with new models tailored to the American taste, focusing on electrification and new models in the best-selling SUV segments. The Volkswagen ID.4 has been sold with great success in the United States and Canada since 2021, and local assembly of the model started in mid-2022 at the Chattanooga, Tennessee plant. Further electrified models are about to enter the American market, including the ID. Buzz as well as new SUV models in the years to come. Through 2027, Volkswagen will invest more than 2 billion euros in the electrification and digitalization of its products in the North American region. At the same time, the brand, with its conventional model range, focuses on highly desirable and profitable SUVs, including the very popular Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport - both manufactured in Chattanooga - as well as Tiguan and Taos, both built in Puebla, Mexico. The Golf R and GTI as well as the Arteonhelp sharpen the brand image. Volkswagen has created more than 4,000 jobs at its Chattanooga facilities. In addition, hundreds of experts are driving research in nationwide technology centers for batteries, software, design and materials research. The brand is headquartered in Reston, Virginia.

Buzz with long wheelbase. The world premiere will also take place there on June 2, at surfer hotspot Huntington Beach, on the Pacific Coast Highway near Los Angeles. The vehicle will be revealed as part of the largest VW Bus festival in the USA as a tribute to the fans and the country. At the same time, America will welcome the ID. Buzz with a generous gesture: from New York to San Francisco, June 2 will in future be celebrated as a holiday, “Volkswagen Bus Day”. This bus tour will continue in Germany in just three weeks with the European debut of the long ID. Buzz. Volkswagen breaks ground on expansion for electric vehicle production in United States
Volkswagen of America marked the start of construction for its electric vehicle production facility. The Chattanooga site, where production begins in 2022, will be Volkswagen's North American assembly base for electric vehicles on the Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB). The company also announced it intends to build a plant for the assembly of battery packs for EVs at the Chattanooga site.
