The first fully electric SUV from Volkswagen. Volkswagen’s electric offensive continues to pick up pace: following the ID.3, the ID.4 is the second model to be built based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB) and is the brand’s first ever fully electric SUV. It transports this cleaner form of mobility out into the mountains and forests and demonstrates one of the company’s biggest strengths: the development of modern electric vehicles that bring together price, performance and sustainability for customers.
A milestone in the electric offensive. The ID.4 will be launched into the world’s largest market segment, the compact SUV class. It will be produced and sold in China, the US and Europe and marks a strategic milestone in the Group’s electric offensive. Volkswagen plans to launch up to 75 fully electric models by 2029 and to sell around 26 million electric vehicles in this period. An entire ecosystem of sustainable electric mobility will be established around these cars. ID.4 customers will receive a vehicle that has been produced with a carbon-neutral balance. And if it is charged using sustainably produced electricity – like Volkswagen Naturstrom – it will remain carbon-neutral on the road too.

World premiere at CES: Volkswagen integrates ChatGPT into its vehicles
At CES 2024, the world's leading electronics trade fair held from 9 to 12 January, Volkswagen will present the first vehicles in which the artificial-intelligence-based chatbot ChatGPT is integrated into its IDA voice assistant. In future, customers will have seamless access to the constantly growing artificial intelligence database in all Volkswagen models equipped with the IDA voice assistant and have researched content read out to them while driving. Cerence Chat Pro from technology partner Cerence Inc. is the foundation of the new function, which offers a uniquely intelligent, automotive-grade ChatGPT integration. Volkswagen will be the first volume manufacturer to offer Chat GPT as a standard feature from the second quarter of 2024 in many production vehicles. -
Fleet.Electrified: 1,000 Volkswagen ID.4 for Siemens fleet
Volkswagen Financial Services are electrifying the fleet of Siemens AG together with the Volkswagen brand: the company's fleet will be gradually supplemented with up to 1,000 leased Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles. These all-electric vehicles are part of the electrification and sustainability strategy pursued by Siemens, one of the largest and longest established industrial companies in Germany.

The new ID.4 and ID.5
Volkswagen is now announcing the details of extensive upgrades to the hardware and software of the ID.4 and ID.5. Customers who order one of these models from now on will receive their vehicles with a new software and infotainment system generation and an improved operating concept. In addition, the touch sliders for the air conditioning and volume control will be illuminated in future. The augmented reality head-up display has been enhanced and there is a newly designed 480-watt premium sound system from Harman Kardon. On board the ID.4 Pro, Pro 4MOTION and GTX versions and the ID.5 models, the more economical and at the same time more powerful high-efficiency drive from the ID.7 provides more driving dynamics and driving pleasure. In combination with the Pro models, the new drive develops 210 kW (286 PS); the GTX versions deliver 250 kW (340 PS).
