Gesture Control

Volkswagen offers the most advanced stages of development of its navigation systems with a gesture control function. Horizontally positioned menu items can be shifted to the left or right by a swiping gesture with the hand. This allows the driver to move through the main menu, change the radio station, scroll backwards and forwards in the playlist or the picture viewer and to browse through the music albums (Coverflow). A light reflection and a visualized hand symbol indicate the contexts that can be operated by gesture control. Operation is supported by visual interaction feedback; a swipe gesture that has been successfully completed is also confirmed by a sound effect (which can be switched off).
