Arne Meiswinkel became the member of the Brand Board of Management for Volkswagen Passenger Cars responsible for HR on August 1, 2022.
He was born in Bonn on July 29, 1968. Meiswinkel studied business administration at universities in Lüneburg and Valenciennes, France, and earned a business degree in 1995. He has more than 20 years of experience in various HR managerial positions at the Volkswagen Group.
Meiswinkel began his career at the German Steel Employers´ Association in Düsseldorf and later moved to Heidelberger-Druckmaschinen AG. In 2002, he joined the Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg. Two years later, he became head of the office of the Group’s Chief Human Resources Officer. He went on to become Head of HR at the Braunschweig plant and the Managing Director of HR, Organization and IT at Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH. Meiswinkel assumed the position of Director of HR Policies and Industrial Relations for the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand in 2012.
Since 2016, he has responsibility for the area of HR principles and management for the entire Volkswagen AG and the Group. Meiswinkel is also the chief collective-bargaining negotiator at Volkswagen AG, an area that comprises the Group offices and three brands in the Group: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Volkswagen Components.
