The Bora Estate was an especially exclusive version of the Golf Estate which was sold from April 1999 to December 2004. Compared with the Golf Estate, the main distinguishing feature of this model was the different front end with rectangular headlamps. The standard equipment was also more comprehensive, including a variable cargo space with additional stowage compartments under the cargo floor. Apart from one gasoline and one diesel engine, the engine options were the same as for the Golf. The exclusive estate car was also available with optional 4MOTION four-wheel drive. The top-of-the-range model, the Bora 2.8 V6 4MOTION, delivered 204 PS to both axles.
