Since the Beetle, Volkswagen has been enabling affordable mobility for millions of people with compact and likeable cars. With the ID. EVERY1 concept car, the German car manufacturer is now showing an entry-level all-electric model. Volkswagen will launch the production version in 2027 – with a starting price of around 20,000 euros. The ID. 2all will already be launched in the 25,000-euro class in 2026. Both models are part of the new Electric Urban Car Family with front-wheel drive, which is being developed on a cross-brand basis under the umbrella of the Brand Group Core – comprising the volume brands in the Volkswagen Group. They are based on Volkswagen’s new modular electric drive platform: the MEB with front-wheel drive.

Less than four month to go until the big GTI party takes place, from 26-28 July. For the first time, the legendary GTI meetup will be held at locations around the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg, and the theme will be Icons Coming Home. All information on advance ticket sales can now be found on www.volkswagen.de/gtifanfest, with one-day passes costing €19.76 and three-day VIP tickets available for €119.76. A limited number of Experience Tickets are also available, and include a 150-minute driving experience in a series of performance Volkswagen models at the testing facility in Ehra near Wolfsburg. In addition to car displays, stage shows and club meets, many more activities and surprises lay in store for GTI and Volkswagen enthusiasts and their families. Admission is free for under-18s.

Under the motto “Coming Home – Reloaded”, Wolfsburg will become the new home for the GTI fan community next summer: The legendary meetup will take place in the vicinity of the VfL Wolfsburg stadium from July 26 – 28, 2024 and will be organized in cooperation with the Autostadt. In addition to vehicle presentations, stage shows and club meets, there will be many other activities and surprises for GTI enthusiasts.

With the world premiere of the ID. 2all, Volkswagen presented a concept vehicle for the first time based on the brand’s new design language. This visual language specifically transfers iconic design elements such as the legendary C-pillar of the first Golf into the near future and into new segments. Now the design team has transferred this new language to the concept vehicle of an electric Volkswagen entry-level model: the ID. EVERY1. The style and character of the smallest Volkswagen are shaped by the three central values of the new design language: stability, likeability and secret sauce. Volkswagen Head of Design Andreas Mindt: “The widely flared wheel housings over the large 19-inch wheels and the athletic and clearly designed surfaces of the silhouette ensure stability. The slightly cheeky smile at the front is a particularly likeable feature. A secret sauce element is the roof drawn in in the middle, as is usually known from sports cars. All these design elements lend the ID. EVERY1 a charismatic identity with which people can identify.” The pillars of stability, likeability and the secret sauce shape the design of the ID. GTI – for decades now, this name has stood for compact sports cars from Volkswagen. Golf GTI, Scirocco GTi, Polo GTI, up! GTI. Icons. Volkswagen is now catapulting GTI DNA into the age of electric mobility with the new ID. GTI Concept. The ID. GTI Concept is based on the ID. 2all presented in March – a future electric compact car that costs around 25,000 euros and which has generated worldwide attention. Its front-wheel drive, clear design and powerful proportions make it the perfect starting point for a new GTI. Volkswagen Head of Design Andreas Mindt already also had the sporty derivative in mind when he produced the first sketches for the ID. 2all. And just like the ID. 2all, the ID. GTI Concept is more than just a show car – it is the first glimpse of the exciting GTI future because its series development has already been decided.

The Volkswagen brand is continuing the success story of its compact cars in the age of electric mobility and is providing a first glimpse of an all-electric Volkswagen costing less than 25,000 euros with the ID. 2all concept vehicle. Initial facts: front-wheel drive, range of up to 450 kilometres, innovative technological features such as Travel Assist, IQ.LIGHT or Electric Vehicle Route Planner and a new Volkswagen design language. The production version will be based on the MEB Entry platform and is one of ten new electric models that Volkswagen will launch by 2026.
